        Sherry Lady (Ripple) is a native Oregonian, born in Portland, Oregon where she lived until the age of nine.  At that time she and her parents and sister moved to a farm in a small village known as Cove Orchard in rural Yamhill County, where she attended a two room schoolhouse that had a creek running beside it.  After graduating from the 8th grade there, she attend Yamhill High School in the town of Yamhill three miles from her home.

From high school she attended Oregon College of Education where she earned her BS degree in Education, with a minor in art.  It was here that she met her husband of 58 years who was also in education. They both began their teaching careers in Dallas, Oregon.  After their two children, Julie and Jeff, were born they moved to Aloha, Oregon where Sherry stayed home with the children and her husband taught high school

In 1966 the family of four moved overseas to Japan where Sherry and Robert were on the teaching staff at the American International School in Tokyo.  Upon completion of four years in Japan the family moved to Eugene, Oregon where both continued to be in education.  (Robert passed in 2016.) Sherry completed her MS degree in education at the University of Oregon and an associate degree in theater,

Upon retirement, Sherry attended ministerial school at Unity School in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.  Upon completion she returned to her home church in Eugene and became associate minister and youth education director, as well a director for their theater musical productions.  Though no long youth education director she is still on the three person ministerial staff at the church and shares in the leadership of the congregation.
